Why Small Business Saturday Matters

Hello friends! Since it is Thanksgiving Eve, Black Friday seems to be on everyone’s mind. My inbox is inundated with sale emails from Goodyear to Sephora. It seems like this mass flocking to malls, shopping centers or grocery stores on Black Friday has become something that we not only accept but seem to crave. Don’t get me wrong-I love a getting a good deal just as much as the next red-blooded American however, I can’t help but worry about the consequences of Black Friday. This concern does not just come from the view of a small business owner but as a person who is concerned with maintaining the “mom and pop” mentality in our society. With that being said, if you choose to go out and shop this Friday have fun, try to not get too stressed and save some money and energy for Small Business Saturday.
